Second Phase of Registration is Now Open!

The previous phase of registration had ended on November 22, 2019. With the announcement of CAT results, IMT Ghaziabad has re-opened its admission window which had earlier closed in 2019. This is the second phase of admission registration. The second phase of registration has begun on January 6, 2020. The application process for MBA and PGDM programs are open for now. The admission window will be open only for a limited period.

What is the Eligibility Criteria? Who Can Apply?

Eligibility criteria to apply for the exam is a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. The graduation degree must be of at least three years’ duration. Applicants need to have at least 50% aggregate marks in graduation to be eligible. Students appearing for their final examination are eligible for application, provided they fulfil the other criteria at the end of their course.

Candidates must have appeared in the management entrance exams like CAT or XAT. Also, students will be considered eligible if they have appeared for GMAT between January 1, 2016, and February 28, 2020. In the case of candidates who are appearing or have appeared for GMAT but cannot provide the GMAT score at present, their admission will be considered provisional. Their admission will be finalized only if IMT receives a submission of their GMAT score latest by March 15, 2020.

CMAT 2020 scores will not be considered for admission in IMT Ghaziabad. It is to be considered only in case of admission in IMT Nagpur and IMT Hyderabad. PGDM classes for the 2020 academic session will commence in June this year. It is to be noted that it is a residential course.

How to Apply? What is the Procedure for Application?

Those who are eligible for the application in IMT Ghaziabad can fill-up the application form at the official website of the institute: admissions.imt.edu. The application form is the same for all the campuses of IMT. The application fee is to be paid online through NET Banking/ Debit/ Credit Card mode. It can also be paid through Demand Draft addressed to the institution. The cost of the application fee is Rs. 2000, plus taxes. The application fee is not refundable. So students are reminded to read the eligibility criteria and other instructions carefully before proceeding with the application and fee payment.

Your preference of campus can be mentioned in the application form itself. Once your fee payment is complete, your application form will be generated, and you will be given an application number. Students are advised to note down the application number for further requirements. Once IMT receives your fee payment, you can constantly check your application status on the same portal.

The first step for filling up the form is registration. Applicants are advised to read instructions carefully and fill in the requisite details.

• Go to the IMT admission portal and click on the ‘Apply Now’ option to begin the procedure.
• Enter your name, email address and other details to proceed with registration.
• Once this is done, you can proceed to the second step, that is, filling up your details.
• Type in your particulars, like test score, address etc. to complete this process.
• After finishing with this second page, you can move on to the third page where your academic details will be asked.
• You will need to fill in the particulars of your academic record since class 10.
• In case you have any job experience, this is the place to mention it.
• At the end of it, you reach the fee payment portal where you need to deposit Rs. 2000 to finish your application process.

IMT Ghaziabad Selection Process

After this, the preliminary selection is going to be held based on the results of competitive exams. Applicants have an option to submit the scores of more than one competitive exam to make their chances of selection better. Following selection through XAT/GMAT/CAT, personal interviews will be held before the final list of selected students is announced.

Name of those who are invited for the interview process will be notified through the official website of IMT. Candidates selected for the interview will need to report to the administrative office of IMT Ghaziabad. Apart from the interview process, students need to go through another process for final selection- group activity. Group activities are rough 30 minutes’ duration, and they evaluate the applicant’s ability to pitch new ideas, inventiveness and potential for leadership roles.

The PGDM course is of two-years, full-time program. The program is offered in several specialisations like Marketing, Finance, Banking and Insurance and Financial Services (PGDM- BIFS). Several new courses have been added to the curriculum with effect from the last academic session. There is a total of 180 seats which will be filled through GMAT, CAT and XAT cut off, followed by an interview.

What will be the Cutoff for Admission? How Much Do You Need to Qualify?

Cutoff for IMT Ghaziabad varies from one academic session to another. A study of previous years’ cutoffs can give students an idea about the expected cutoff for the session beginning in 2020. Based on an analysis of previous years’ cutoffs, the cutoffs for 2020 may be predicted as; CAT cutoff- 90, XAT cutoff- 90, GMAT cutoff-90.

One needs to remember that clearing the cutoff is not a guarantee of admission. There are two more rounds to go- group activity and personal interview. Every round carries a weightage of the score. After completion of all rounds, the final selection is made based on the average score.
