Considering your new home, everything is new, unfamiliar and seems scary so you may find yourself adjusting to its surroundings and environment. This can be difficult for you to sleep at night because you are worried that something might happen. This is what scientists called the “First Night-Effect”.

Over-excitement

Going out of town for a vacation or getting your first house is the greatest achievement and fulfillment, right? While on your cozy bed, you’re probably thinking of plans for tomorrow; whether it’s taking your first zipline, going on a long walk on the beach, decorating your new house and so on. When you are full of excitement that night that you may realize you have overlooked your sleeping time. Because of that, you may have missed out those enjoyable moments since you don’t have your energy the next day.

Most people don’t recognize the importance of having a good mattress at their home. Finding the right mattress for you doesn’t mean you have to spend money on high-tech and famous brands. Instead of focusing on brand names and prices, consider investing in high-quality foam mattress protector that you and your family will surely love.

  1. Bring something from home

When sleeping in an unfamiliar place, bring your own cool pillows or blanket. It will help you to sleep better as it provides you a sense of familiarity, making you feel like you’re still sleeping in your bed even if your miles away from home.

  1. Choose the same hotel or vacation houses

When you attempt to sleep in unusual areas, one brain hemisphere will remain more awake than the other as a way to be more alert to any future danger. But if you choose to stay in the same place where you think you can be safe, especially if you have the comforts of home, like your own pillow, the more relaxed you are likely to become. Good news for those who may stay for a few nights in a hotel room!

Lullabies are not only for babies but also they are also good for adults too. It is completely acceptable— even encouraged— to use relaxing music to wind down before sleeping every night as a method of relaxation.

The advantages may not occur overnight, but listening to music pays off — it can take as many as three weeks to see improvement.
